REGISTRATION OPEN FOR AUG-DEC 2010!

2010 has been an exciting year for Stingers Hockey so far! Growing to almost 60 members between ages 5-16,  and doing well in the Community Hockey League in May, the club is continuing to grow into a fantastic community of players, parents and coaches. With the new state-of-the-art pitch at UWC finally complete, and the Community Hockey League's Season 1 starting in November, there's a great deal to look forward to this coming year.

The August - December 2010 season will commence on Saturday 21st August and will end on Saturday 12th December 2010. To download a registration form, click on the button below.  Anyone can join at any time! Please contact Stewart Bamrah, 8427 3629 for a pro-rata fee if you wish to sign your child up after the start of the season.

ABOUT THE STINGERS HOCKEY CLUB:

APSM, in partnership with United World College of SEA, successfully established the Stingers Community Hockey Club for children aged 6 - 18 in 2008. Based at the superb facilities at United World College, Dover Road, the club is proving to be an important building block to a number of new hockey tournaments and leagues developing in Singapore.

With a team of professional, experienced coaches, players will be taught a range of basic and advanced passing, dribbling, and shooting techniques to develop their playing skills. Players will also get the chance to learn specialist skills such as  flicks and penalty corners, as well as teamwork and strategic play. Join the Stingers community today!

Vopak HSL Community Hockey Tournament

On Saturday 14th November, 150 young hockey players representing 16 teams gathered for a day of Hockey at Delta Stadium. The weather was perfect, the atmosphere was fantastic and everyone played their best in the first tournament of its kind in pulling together a number of various communities: Dutch, United World College, Local Clubs, and Stingers HC. 4 age categories ran across the whole day, and a total of 67 goals were scored, with special awards being presented for Most Valuable Player and Top Scorer in each age category.

U8: 1st- Hockey 1/ 2nd- Hollandse School 'A'/ 3r- Hollandse School 'B'/ 4th- Stingers/ 5th- Hollandse Club.

'KIDS & PARENTS' END OF YEAR TOURNAMENT/BRUNCH!

Sunday 14th June marked the last training session of the academic year, and to celebrate we held a mini-tournament and pot luck brunch! Parents dug out and dusted off their somewhat out-dated hockey sticks, and joined in for a morning of hockey fun. After a number of games (parent-falling-over moments included), everyone gathered round 3 tables full of food and dug in to a well-earned breakfast. A great idea & the first of many to come!

STINGERS 8s TOURNAMENT - Saturday 21st March 2009!

Saturday 21st March marked the 2nd tournament of the year hosted by the Stingers HC. A number of school and club teams participated including UWC, Hollandse School, Lakeside Primary School and Jurong West Secondary School. It was an exciting morning of hockey with many great plays and goals scored. The final rankings were as follows:

U10 Mixed: 1st- UWCSEA / 2nd- Lakeside Primary School/ 3rd- Stingers

U14 Girls: 1st- Jurong West Secondary School/ 2nd- Stingers/ 3rd- UWCSEA

U14 Boys: 1st- Jurong West A/ 2nd- Jurong West B/ 3rd- CSC Highfliers
