The Community Hockey League was finally launched in May 2010 thanks to a collective effort from Singapore Hockey Federation, Hollandse Community, United World College, Hockey 1 and APSM.
WHY?
1) To bring together local & international youth hockey communities by increasing opportunities for players aged 6-19yrs to participate in regular competition, and
2) Provide modified game formats tailored to the mental & physical capabilities of the players according to age- 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 & 11 –a-side.
The first season ran successfully in May 2010 with over 130 young hockey players taking part, some playing their first ever competitive games!

Singapore Hockey Network Meeting
Monday 7th June 2010, 5:30pm
UWCSEA, 1207 Dover Rd, Meeting Room
Following the launch of the Community Hockey League and the end of the first season, we are now aiming to bring together passionate representativesof the variousinterested communities, and formalise a calendar of events for the coming year. Having already gained valuable support from Singapore Hockey Federation, Hollandse School, United World College and Hockey 1 among others, we are determined to develop a competitive structurewhich can accomodate many more young hockey players. The meeting is designed to achieve the following objectives:
Expand the network of people from coaches, clubs, schools and other community and government organizations who share a passion for developing hockey programs for boys and girls of all ages.
Collect feedback and discuss the various formats which the CHL and other potential tournaments provide to the junior hockey community- 3, 4, 5, 6, 8-a-side & Mini-Hockey.
Establish a calendar of events (2008/09) that considers the various annual academic timetables of Singaporean and International Schools.
We appeal to every member of the Singapore hockey community to join our efforts and make our vision a reality. If you know a colleague who might be interested in our project please forward him/her our invitation.
